Our Story

Built from experience

BuPay was born from the frustration of managing group payments in Japan. After years of chasing cash, maintaining messy Excel spreadsheets, and dealing with awkward money conversations, we decided to build the tool we wished existed. BuPay was founded by the engineer who built TeamPay, an Australian team-payments app, so this is the exact problem we've solved before. A platform that works with LINE (where teams already communicate), supports PayPay (how people already pay), and makes financial transparency effortless.
