This page explains how to delete your BuPay account and personal data. You can delete it yourself at any time, from the app or the web. If you have removed the app or cannot sign in, ask us by email.
2Delete from the app
- Sign in to the BuPay app
- Tap your profile picture at the top right of the home screen, then Security
- Tap Delete account and confirm
3Delete from the web
- Sign in at dashboard.bupay.jp
- Open Account, then Security
- Click Delete account and confirm
4If you cannot use the app
If you have removed the app or cannot sign in, email privacy@bupay.jp from the address registered with BuPay, asking for your account to be deleted. Once we have confirmed it is you, we delete it within 30 days of your request.
5What is deleted
Deleting your account immediately erases the following. Family profiles you manage are erased the same way.
- Name and kana
- Date of birth
- Profile photo
- Email address and phone number
- LINE link
- Saved card and autopay settings
- All team memberships and admin roles
- Push notification settings
- Your sign-in account
6What is kept
The following records are kept for 7 years, as tax and accounting law requires. Your name and other personal details are removed, and they show as 「退会済み メンバー」 (former member).
- Charges and payment records
- Invoices and receipts
- Refund requests and their outcome
7Before you delete
- Unpaid charges are still owed after deletion. Please pay them first
- If you are the only admin of an organization, you cannot delete your account. Make someone else an admin first
- Deletion cannot be undone. You can sign up again with the same email address
