How organisations work
The organisation is the top-level account in BuPay. It owns everything underneath it, leagues, teams, members and money, and every payment you collect flows through it. Understanding how the pieces fit together makes the rest of the platform much easier to navigate.
The top of the hierarchy
BuPay is structured as organisation → leagues → teams. Each layer has a clear job:
- Organisation, the account that owns everything and receives the money
- Leagues, group teams together and define seasons and season passes
- Teams, hold the players, games and charges
Whoever creates it becomes its admin
Creating an organisation automatically makes you its organisation admin. You can create one from the organisation switcher at any time, and on your first sign-in, the setup wizard creates your organisation, first league and first team together in one flow.

Organisation admins can manage every league and team in the organisation and view all of its finances. Invite co-admins for anyone who helps run the club alongside you, such as a treasurer or co-organiser.
Money belongs to the organisation
Payments are collected under the organisation and routed to its connected Stripe account. Nothing can be collected until Stripe is connected, so it's the first thing to sort out after creating the organisation.
