Platform fees
Every payment carries a small fee so the platform and payment processing can run. Here's what those fees are made of, who pays them, and where you'll see them.
Two parts to every fee
Each payment carries two fees, shown separately:
- Platform fee, a fixed amount plus a percentage, set on your organisation; this covers use of BuPay
- Stripe processing fee, Stripe's standard charge for processing the payment
Added on top by default
By default, fees are added on top of the charge amount rather than deducted from it, so the team receives the full amount it charged.
Always visible
Both fees appear at checkout and on every invoice, so members and organisers see the full breakdown before anything is paid.
Bundling keeps fees down
Part of the fee is fixed per payment, so paying several charges in one invoice costs less in fees than paying them one by one.
