Opponents and game requests

Opponents can be teams in your organisation or teams in other organisations with the same sport. Teams that don't use BuPay can be saved to the club as external teams. Choosing a BuPay team sends a game request, confirmed once they accept. Repeating games start with the opponent TBD, so you set it for each date.

  1. Pick a recent opponent

The opponent step lists teams by most recent game, filterable by All, BuPay and External.

  2. Search by name

Teams in other organisations with the same sport show up too. If there's no match, add them as an external team.

  3. Add an external team

Enter the team name, representative, coach and contact. Saving it to the club lets every club team pick it next time. Inviting them to BuPay needs an email contact. Press "Add and select".

  4. Select the external team

Games against external teams are confirmed straight away, with no request.

  5. Continue to date and venue

Continue to enter the date, time and venue. Name and staff, then plans and fees, follow.

  6. See a decline

If a BuPay team declines your request, the game card shows Declined. The Games tab opens on the calendar; switch to the list to spot it.

  7. See the game after a decline

The game page says the other team declined and that the game stays on your schedule. "Request another team" lets you pick a different team or an external team.

Tip: A declined request can't be accepted later, and you can't ask the team that declined again.
  8. Manage the club's external teams

Saved external teams on the club's Opponents tab show the last game and the representative.

  9. Edit or delete

The row's "…" menu has Edit and Delete, plus Invite to BuPay when the contact is an email.

Tip: Club and organisation admins can edit, invite and delete external teams.
  10. Confirm the delete

Past games keep the team's name after it's deleted.

  11. See BuPay opponents

BuPay teams you've played are listed too.

  12. Set a TBD opponent

Repeating games are created with the opponent TBD. Use "Set opponent" on the game page to pick that date's opponent. That date then leaves the series, so later series edits don't change it.
