Receiving payouts is the last phase of setup: you move on to it straight after the Website step. If you skipped it, press "Resume" on Receiving payouts in the dashboard setup panel.
Choose your business type
Pick sole proprietor or unincorporated club, company or non-profit, whichever matches the body collecting the money.
Tip: For a team with no legal entity, the representative (manager, coach, captain, treasurer…) chooses "Sole proprietor or unincorporated club" on the team's behalf. No business registration is needed.Check what you'll need
The three things your business type needs (ID, the payout bank account and so on) are listed. Have them to hand before you continue.
Enter your name and contact details
Enter the representative's name (with kana), email, phone number and date of birth. The name must match the payout bank account. These details go to Stripe for identity checks.
Describe your organisation
On the same screen, "About your organisation" asks for a website and a business description. Both are required and Stripe uses them in its review.
- Website: the URL of the site you made in the previous phase is filled in. You can change it to your own site
- Business description: in 2–3 sentences (20–500 characters), say what you offer, how members find the club and who pays what
Tip: If you chose company or non-profit, you enter these on the review screen instead.Review your details
The Review and agree screen shows your business type, name and contact details, website and business description.
Agree and continue to Stripe
Tick both boxes and press "Continue to Stripe". After verifying identity and adding your bank account on Stripe's secure pages, you return to the BuPay dashboard.
- The terms of use, including the payment-collection and agency clauses: BuPay (and Stripe) receive members' payments on your behalf
- Receiving for the group: the money is fees owed to a group or business. For a group with no legal entity, the representative receives it on the group's behalf, never to recover personal advances or settle up between individuals
You're connected
The dashboard now shows collected, next payout, outstanding and collection rate, plus Needs attention. You're ready to collect. While Stripe checks your details it shows as verifying, and you don't need to do anything.
Check it in organisation settings
Open organisation settings from "Manage Organization" on the dashboard. The tabs are Members, Sport, Insurance and Fees. The Fees tab shows your Stripe account and who pays the system usage fee, which locks once payments start.
Tip: Contact support if you need to change the fee payer after payments have started.

What you've entered is kept. Continue with "Resume" on Receiving payouts on the dashboard.
Can I create teams and games before connecting?
Yes. Teams, games and members all work before you connect, and members can join from an invite. Until Stripe is connected, a member who tries to pay sees "This organization isn't ready to accept payments yet". Unpaid charges of members who turned on autopay are collected automatically once the connection is complete.
